Studio Registration And Local Authority Compliance
Lisney Tattoo operates in Chard, Somerset. Tattooing is regulated by Somerset Council as a form of skin piercing. The tattoo practitioner and the premises used for tattooing must be separately registered with Somerset Council, and applicable local byelaws for hygiene and safety must be followed.
Age Restriction
All clients must be aged 18 or over on the date of the appointment. Lisney Tattoo does not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 under any circumstances. Valid photographic ID may be requested before any tattoo appointment begins. If suitable ID is not produced, the appointment will not proceed and the deposit may be retained.
The Tattooing of Minors Act 1969 makes it an offence to tattoo a person under the age of 18 except where the tattoo is performed for medical reasons by a duly qualified medical practitioner.
Booking Requests, Appointment Confirmation, And Pre-Appointment Forms
Submitting a booking request does not guarantee an appointment. An appointment is only confirmed once the booking request has been accepted, the required deposit has been paid, and a confirmation has been issued by Lisney Tattoo through Microsoft Bookings or directly by the studio.
After booking, clients may be required to complete one or more pre-appointment forms using Microsoft Forms. These forms may collect contact details, tattoo request details, consent confirmations, and health or medical information relevant to the safe delivery of the appointment.
Where a pre-appointment Microsoft Form is required, Lisney Tattoo reserves the right to delay, reschedule, or refuse the appointment if the form is not completed in time or if the information provided raises safety, legal, hygiene, or suitability concerns.
Consultations
Some appointments require a prior consultation. Any discussion around design, placement, size, timing, and pricing is provisional until the final appointment has been confirmed.
Deposits
A deposit of 50% of the quoted or estimated tattoo price is required to secure an appointment.
- The deposit secures the booking slot.
- The deposit is credited against the final tattoo price.
- The deposit covers time set aside, drawing time, preparation, and diary loss if the appointment does not go ahead.
The deposit amount will be shown at the time of booking or confirmed separately. Lisney Tattoo applies this deposit policy fairly and proportionately.
Pricing
Quoted prices are estimates unless expressly confirmed in writing as fixed. Final pricing depends on size, placement, complexity, detail, time required, and any client-requested changes. If the scope of the tattoo changes, the final price may also change.
Client Cancellation And Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, you must give as much notice as possible.
- If at least 72 hours’ notice is given, the deposit will usually be transferred once to a new appointment.
- If less than 72 hours’ notice is given, some or all of the deposit may be retained where fair and proportionate.
- If you fail to attend, some or all of the deposit may be retained where fair and proportionate.
- Repeated cancellations, late rearrangements, or significant booking changes may require a new deposit.
Any retained amount is intended to reflect drawing time, preparation, reserved diary time, and loss caused by the cancellation, non-attendance, or change.
Cancellation Or Rearrangement By Lisney Tattoo
Lisney Tattoo reserves the right to cancel or rearrange an appointment due to illness, emergency, equipment issues, studio issues, or other circumstances outside reasonable control. If Lisney Tattoo needs to cancel or rearrange an appointment, the studio will offer either a replacement appointment or a refund of the deposit paid.
Lisney Tattoo is not responsible for third-party costs such as travel, accommodation, loss of earnings, or related expenses, unless required by law.
Health Declaration And Client Responsibility
Before the appointment, you must provide accurate and complete information about anything relevant to the tattoo procedure and healing process, including where relevant allergies, skin conditions, medication, blood thinning treatment, pregnancy or breastfeeding, diabetes, epilepsy, fainting history, recent illness or infection, alcohol or drug use, and any other medical or physical issue that could affect the procedure or healing.
If Lisney Tattoo believes it is not safe or appropriate to proceed, the studio reserves the right to refuse, stop, or rearrange the appointment. If incorrect, incomplete, or misleading health information is provided and the appointment cannot safely proceed, the deposit may be retained.
Fitness To Attend
You must attend your appointment sober, well, clean, and able to understand the procedure and give informed consent. Treatment will be refused if you appear intoxicated, aggressive, unwell, unable to consent, or otherwise unsuitable for treatment. In those cases, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and the deposit may be retained.
Design Approval
You are responsible for checking and approving the final design, spelling, dates, placement, and size before the tattoo begins. Once the design and placement are approved and the procedure starts, changes may not be possible. Lisney Tattoo is not responsible for errors approved by the client before the tattoo begins.
Right To Refuse Service
- The requested tattoo is unsafe, offensive, unlawful, or inappropriate.
- The skin area is unsuitable.
- The client’s behaviour is unacceptable.
- The client is unable to provide valid consent.
- Proceeding would create a health, hygiene, or safety concern.
Touch-Ups
Any touch-up policy is at the discretion of Lisney Tattoo. Where a free touch-up is offered, it will usually only apply where the tattoo has healed normally, aftercare advice has been followed, contact is made within the period stated by Lisney Tattoo at the time of the offer, and there has been no neglect, trauma, excessive sun exposure, infection, or poor aftercare.
Certain areas such as fingers, hands, feet, elbows, and other difficult healing areas may be excluded.
Aftercare
You must follow all aftercare instructions provided by Lisney Tattoo. Tattooing involves breaking the skin and carries recognised risks including infection, allergic reaction, poor healing, fading, and pigment loss. If you believe your tattoo is infected or healing abnormally, you should seek appropriate medical advice promptly.
Photographs And Portfolio Use
Lisney Tattoo may photograph completed tattoos for internal records, portfolio use, website content, and social media, unless you ask the studio not to before the appointment begins. If you do not want photographs taken or used, you must say so before the tattoo starts.
Artwork Ownership
All custom artwork, flash preparation, sketches, and tattoo designs created by Lisney Tattoo remain the intellectual property of Lisney Tattoo unless agreed otherwise in writing. Artwork must not be copied, reused, sold, passed to another artist, or commercially reproduced without permission.
Gift Vouchers And Promotions
Any gift voucher, offer, discount, or promotion is subject to its own terms, validity period, and exclusions.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow this, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, Lisney Tattoo is not liable for issues caused by inaccurate or incomplete information given by the client, poor healing caused by failure to follow aftercare advice, issues arising from undisclosed health conditions, or indirect or consequential losses.
Privacy And Data Protection
Lisney Tattoo collects and uses personal information for booking administration, appointment management, consultation, health and consent checks, and aftercare support. Where health information is collected, it is handled as sensitive personal data in line with the Privacy Notice. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read the Privacy Notice.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to these terms or a booking will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
